Attention Flea Market Lovers

I love old and unusual things, and I know many of you do, too. A new book to cross my desk called "The Find: The Housing Works Book of Decorating with Thrift Shop Treasures, Flea Market Objects and Vintage Details" had me itching to go on a treasure hunt. Author Stan Williams, a native of Independence, Mo., who now lives in New York, compiled this book using 25 homes from across the country — three of which are located right here in the metro — highlighting unique furniture, lighting and decor. Whoever thinks secondhand style isn’t elegant must pick this up for a read. Whether an empty nester or bachelor, you’ll find unexpected ways to make a statement without a lot of money.

If you like what you see, follow Stan’s blog, www.theelegantthrifter.com or catch him in person when he’s in town for a book signing this week.
